Gitza Enterprise gives your organisation its own isolated, fully managed instance.
Something else on your mind?
Have a word with usYes: public and private repositories on Gitza are free, hosted in South Africa. The free tier includes unlimited repositories, 2 GB of Git storage, 1 GB of LFS and one organisation with up to three members. Paid tiers add storage and team features, priced per user in Rands.
Gitza is the shared public service at gitza.co.za: create an account and push, like GitHub but in South Africa. Gitza Enterprise is your own isolated instance: your own container, database and storage on your own domain, fully managed, with a signed POPIA operator agreement, SLAs and dedicated compute. Same forge, different isolation guarantees, and a clean upgrade path from one to the other. Enterprise is priced per instance, on enquiry.
No: it’s the opposite of a DIY project. Gitza is built on a mature, community-governed open-source forge, but you don’t install, patch, secure, back up or babysit anything: on the public service or on Enterprise, we run it. Open-source foundation, fully-managed service.
It’s yours, and leaving is clean. Repository export and migration tooling are built into the forge, and on Enterprise your operator agreement covers return and deletion on exit. No lock-in theatre: the whole pitch is that you’re in control of where your code lives, and that includes the freedom to take it with you.
Yes: that’s the entire product. We host on named South African infrastructure, and on Enterprise those locations are named in your operator agreement. Every layer, including file storage and backups, stays in-country. If any part of it quietly lived offshore, the promise would be worthless, so we don’t build it that way.
Not yet. For now, Gitza is the forge itself, done properly, hosted here. Hosted CI is on the roadmap with no date, and when it arrives it will be card-verified with hard caps, which is what keeps crypto-miners from burning the service down. Tell us at hello@gitza.co.za if you need pipelines; it helps us prioritise.
